    Agreement to Terms

    Welcome to Legacy Estate Service. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services. By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

    Our Services

    Legacy Estate Service provides professional estate transition and home organization services, including but not limited to:

    • Estate decluttering and organization
    • Transition and move management
    • Home clear-out and donation coordination
    • Inventory and cataloguing services
    • Estate sale support
    • Cleaning and staging services
    • Bereavement support services

    Service Agreement

    Consultations and Estimates

    Initial consultations and estimates are provided free of charge. Estimates are based on information provided during the consultation and are subject to change if the scope of work differs from what was originally discussed.

    Scheduling and Cancellations

    We require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

    Payment Terms

    Payment terms will be outlined in your service agreement. We accept various payment methods including credit cards, debit cards, and electronic transfers. A deposit may be required for larger projects.

    Client Responsibilities

    As our client, you agree to:

    • Provide accurate information about the scope of work needed
    • Ensure safe access to the property and work areas
    • Disclose any hazardous materials or conditions
    • Make timely decisions regarding item disposition
    • Secure valuables, important documents, and irreplaceable items before service begins
    • Communicate any special instructions or concerns

    Liability and Insurance

    Our Insurance Coverage

    Legacy Estate Service maintains comprehensive general liability insurance and is fully bonded for your protection. Our team members are background-checked and professionally trained.

    Limitation of Liability

    While we exercise the utmost care with your belongings, we are not liable for:

    • Items not disclosed or identified as valuable prior to service
    • Pre-existing damage to items or property
    • Decisions made by the client regarding item disposition
    • Items disposed of at the client's direction
    • Consequential or indirect damages

    Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.

    Donations and Disposals

    When you authorize us to donate or dispose of items:

    • Items designated for donation will be delivered to reputable charitable organizations
    • We will provide donation receipts when available from the receiving organization
    • Items designated for disposal will be handled responsibly and in compliance with local regulations
    • Once items leave the property, they cannot be retrieved

    Confidentiality

    We maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information, property details, and personal matters shared during our engagement. Our team members sign confidentiality agreements and are committed to discretion. We will never share photos, details, or information about your property or belongings without your explicit written consent.

    Intellectual Property

    All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Legacy Estate Service or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

    Dispute Resolution

    We are committed to resolving any concerns through open communication. If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us directly to seek an amicable resolution.

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.

    Changes to These Terms

    We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

    Severability

    If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
